Holidays 2005

Well, what a trip!!!

Took off for Brisbane on 13th June. When I arrived I got my hire car. I was lucky enough to score a free upgrade from a Nissan Pulsar Manual to a Toyota Camry Auto. thanks to a voucher that I had. (was not expecting to get the offer) then went and visited my cousin for the day then headed off for the Gold Coast.

The next day I went on a cruise to the NSW North Coast and inland. I drove from Surfers Paradise through Murwillumbah, then to Nimbin, Lismore, Ballina, Byron Bay and finally back to Surfers Paradise clocking about 300+km’s in the process and really enjoying the day 🙂

The next day I went to Dreamworld, had a good day. I’m not one for rides and didn’t go on any but Dreamworld still kept me entertained all day.

After that I basically relaxed in my apartment, went for walks, went to Infinity (it’s worth going to for sure……but only once) and just bummed around until the Saturday when I had to checkout of the apartment.

During my time on the Gold Coast I heard an advert on the radio regarding the Gold Coast Autosalon being held the same weekend I was there. So once I checked out I went to the new Gold Coast Convention Centre (which was NOT there the year before :S) and went and saw the cars……..and the chicks 😉

After enjoying the Autosalon I said Goodbye to the Gold Coast and went back up to Brisbane and stayed with my cousin for the rest of the time I was in Brisbane. Staying with Shane and his family was great, loved every moment of it. His girlfriend is Maori and her family (and extended family) are a blast. She is now in the Qld State Rugby side, hoping to one day play for Australia. When I was staying with Shane we went to the local Logan Diggers RSL Club and played pokies a couple of times, I won and lost but only lost about $20 overall.

Well, Monday the 20th June is upon me and it’s time to go home. Unfortunately, the plane is delayed and hour and a half, but overall, I was very happy with my holiday, I have now accomplished everything I wanted to do in the South of the state of QLD. I would like to go to FNQ(far North QLD) one day, but for now, it’s time to explore new places and meet new people.

Japan 2007……….here I come 😀
